At the northern entry to Sligo Bay, Rosses Point offers beautiful coastal walks, and other outdoor activities. You will also have the pleasure of seeing Elsinore House, home of the famous poet W.B Yeats and his talented brother Jack B Yeats. The walk around Rosses Point is quite gentle (thought we can’t always say the same for the Atlantic waves!), the village can be covered on foot in less than hour with scenic landmarks and historical points all along the way. The walk begins at the Church of Ireland, along the promenade with beautiful mountains to your left and the old village on your right. Along the way you’ll see the ‘Lady waiting on the Shore’ which symbolises all of the women in Rosses Point who were left behind as their loved ones went out to sea.

Other points to note are the Metal Man, a statue standing on the rocks, the Old Watch House built in 1810 and the Yeats Country Hotel.
